Privacy policy

Comox Valley Lighting is run by Massey Electric Inc. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and our work, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We follow British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

What we collect

• What you send us through the form, by phone or by email: your name, phone number, email address, town, what you’d like lit, your message, and any photos you send.
• What we need to do the job: the address of the work, details of the space and the existing lighting, and photos we take on site.
• For BC Hydro rebates, the details BC Hydro asks for on the application, which you provide or approve.

Why we collect it

To reply to you, book a site visit, prepare a written estimate, do the work, invoice you, and stand behind the work afterwards. We don’t use your information for anything else without asking you first.

Who we share it with

We never sell or rent your information. We share it only when the job needs it:

• BC Hydro, for a rebate application you ask us to prepare.
• Technical Safety BC, for electrical permits and inspections.
• Manufacturers, for product warranty registration where the warranty requires it.
• The service providers we use to run the business, such as email and accounting software, who may use it only to provide that service.

Cookies and tracking

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your device’s IP address to deliver them. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes basic connection data to deliver the pages and protect them from attacks. If we add analytics, we’ll update this page first.

How long we keep it

We keep job records for as long as we need them for warranty, tax and legal requirements, then delete or destroy them. If you contact us and don’t go ahead, we delete your request when it’s no longer useful.

Keeping it safe

Access to customer information is limited to the staff who need it for your job.

Your choices

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to us using it (unless we must keep it by law). Contact us using the details below and we’ll respond within 30 days, as PIPA requires.
