Residential lighting
Improve your life through lighting.
Good light makes a kitchen easier to cook in, a bathroom easier to get ready in and a living room easier to relax in. We design and install new lighting for renovations and new builds, and upgrade the lighting in the rooms you already have.

Two ways in
New lighting, or better lighting.

New lighting
Renovating, adding on or building new? We plan the lighting with the layout: pot lights where you need them, pendants over the island, light on the stairs, and switches where your hand goes. We work with you or with your general contractor.
- A lighting plan that goes in with the wiring
- Pot lights, pendants, under-cabinet and stair lighting
- Dimmers and smart switches from the start
- Permit and inspection through Technical Safety BC

Lighting upgrades
Brighter, warmer and cheaper to run. Swap old fixtures for LED, add pot lights to a ceiling you already have, put light under the kitchen cabinets, or add dimmers to the rooms you use at night.
- Old fixtures swapped for LED
- Pot lights added to existing ceilings
- Under-cabinet, vanity and closet lighting
- Dimmers, timers and smart switches
How a room is lit
Three layers of light.
A room that feels right almost always has three kinds of light working together. Most rooms that feel wrong are missing one.

Ambient light
The general light in a room, usually pot lights or a ceiling fixture. It should light the whole room evenly, and it should dim.

Task light
Light where you work: over the counter, at the vanity, above the desk. It sits close to the job so you’re never working in your own shadow.

Accent light
Pendants, lamps and lights that show off a feature. It’s the layer that makes a room feel finished.
Room by room
A starting point for every room.
These are where we start the conversation, not rules. We’ll talk it through on site.
| Room | What works | Colour |
|---|---|---|
| Kitchen | Pot lights for the room, under-cabinet light on the counters, pendants over the island or eating bar. | 3000K |
| Bathroom | Vanity light at face height so there are no shadows, plus a pot light rated for the shower. | 3000K |
| Living and dining | Dimmable pot lights, with a pendant or chandelier over the table. | 2700K |
| Entry and stairs | Light at every change of level, switched at the top and the bottom. | 2700K to 3000K |
| Garage and workshop | Bright LED strip fixtures, so you can see what you’re doing. | 4000K |
Colour is colour temperature in kelvin (K). Lower is warmer. What the numbers mean.
